  1. what is putty?

  2. Putty is a utility you can download which gives you access to an ESX service console.

  3. Lee -

I haven’t used the Virtual Center VCB plug-in. In fact, I wasn’t aware there is such an animal. VMware is not a significant part of my daily routine, so I’m not as tuned to this type of thing as I’d like to be. Where might I get more info?

  4. I think I found what I was looking for. It looks like VC uses VMware Converter to create new VMs from VCB images.

    See page 7: http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vcb_35_new.pdf

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be trying this today.

  5. Hi,

Its actually through the Virtual Center converter plugin. The converter will allow you to restore images taken from your VCB proxy.
